In this bathroom, everything is just a little different
In 2019, Lotte and Rick moved to Muiden with their daughter. Lotte designed the entire interior and chose Cobber taps for their two bathrooms. Four years later, with a second daughter, the family has just moved into their dream home further down the street. Once again, they chose Hotbath — but did almost everything else differently!

Lotte: “Back in 2019, Hotbath was one of the few tap brands offering coloured finishes. I wanted matt black Cobber built-in taps for our bathrooms, and they turned out beautifully.” Four years later, with another daughter, the family now lives in a detached wooden house by the water.
“We did look at other brands, but in terms of price, quality, design and options, Hotbath really stands out. We were so happy with our taps in the previous house, so the choice was easy.”

New bathroom, new taps
In their previous home, Lotte and Rick had two bathrooms, but in practice they only used one. This time, they opted for one main bathroom plus an additional washbasin with a Gal (GL003H) mixer tap in the bedroom. “When the girls are older, they’ll probably spend more time in front of the mirror. It’s really convenient to have an extra washbasin. Even now, it’s a great spot for washing your hands or blow-drying your hair.”
In this house, Lotte wanted to take a different approach. Instead of two basins, there’s just one; the shower niche has been replaced with a shelf; and she chose a new tap design. “I love Cobber, but I wanted something different this time. Gal has bold, angular lines that I find really appealing — a nice change from the rounded shapes you see everywhere. The brushed brass finish works perfectly with our materials: a dark-stained oak vanity, ceramic tiles with a natural stone pattern and a white Solid Surface bath. The taps are finished with a PVD coating (Physical Vapor Deposition), ensuring the colour stays exactly as it is. I love things clean and fresh — I think patina is beautiful, but it’s not for me.”

‘I call it our luxury carwash’

Luxury carwash
One of Lotte and Rick’s wishes was to have a large walk-in shower. “Rick and I rarely take baths — I just don’t have the patience for it. But we do love a good shower. Our shower is 1.75 metres deep and features a slide rail (GL311) with a hand shower (Cobber M353) and a rainfall shower (GL100) above it. I like to call it our luxury carwash,” she laughs. “It’s so much fun to shower together with our children, and during the week it’s also much quicker.
By lowering the hand shower, the girls can stand under it themselves. I usually use the rainfall shower, although I actually prefer the hand shower — it has a stronger spray and is handy if you don’t want to get your hair wet. The shower controls are positioned at the entrance of the shower, so you never get wet — just like the taps.”
